Compensated Volunteer positions

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Compensated Volunteer with Elderville-Lakeport VFD, below you will find information about our CV positions.

 

Duties:

• Responding to a variety of emergency and non- emergency calls.
• Equipment and station maintenance.
• Perform inspections for Pre-fire plans.
• Hydrant testing.

Hours:

• 12-hour shifts from 8AM-8PM and 8PM-8AM all days of the week
• Applicants are required to work 36 hours a month on average.

Stations:

• ELVFD has 4 fire stations to choose from.

Pay:

• Starting pay $19.50/HR. (20.00/HR. with basic NWCG wildland IS-130 and IS-190)
• After one year $1.00/hr. ($21.00) Saturday & Sunday Shifts $1.00/HR Extra. Max Pay $22.00 Per Hour
• Holiday Pay $100.00 Per extra 12Hr shift for Major Holidays.

Min. Requirements:

• Applicant must be certified as Fire Fighter I, Fire Fighter II, Hazardous Material-Awareness and operation Level or equivalent meeting NFPA 1001-2008, Standard for fighter professional qualification, must provide proof of certification.
• Applicant must be at least a certified Emergency Medical Technician by the Texas Department of Health, must provide proof of certification.
• Experience-1 year paid or 2 years volunteer.
• Class B driver license.

• Candidates must pass a written exam, physical ability test, drug screen, and have a good driving record to be considered for hire.
